Lesson 2
What goes into the first minutes of any film?
Film 1: Se7en
(Horror)
- Dark atmoshere to set the tone of the film.
- Zoomed up shots of specific objects to make the opening more mysterious and hidden as the genre is a horror movie.
- Different speeds of the back ground soundtrack...
gets faster approaching the end of the introduction of the film.
- No dialoge being used.
- The major actors starring in the film are shown within the first minute (shows the importantly)
- The editing add to the on and keeps you on edge/ tense throughout.
Film 2: Austin Powers
(Comical)
- Throughout the opening, the camera is focused at one character.
- The actions the character makes, sets the tone of the film.
- The soundtrack adds to the comical tone.
- The use of font and colour adds to the context of the film. Bubbly big 50s type style.
- The way the credits have been arranged to add humour.
Film 3: James Bond
(Mystery)
- Use of juxtaposition being used.
- The music has quite a sexy bold seducing, which sets a tone.
- The main parts of the film has been shown upon gold manikins of men and women.
- explosions, shootings, guns add to the tone of the film.
- The use of colours black, white and gold are used creating a mysterious feel and quite old fashioned.
